The i5850S high volume scanner from Kodak is not, the company tells us, a version update to the i5850: rather it represents a new design from the ground up, and it has to be said that it offers clear improvements on what was already a very attractive proposition

Our last eNewsletter of the year comes just a couple of weeks after the 2016 DM Awards, so the memory of our tenth annual ceremony is still fresh in our minds. The change of venue to the sumptuous Grand Connaught Rooms went smoothly, and feedback after the event was overwhelmingly positive. Our expectations for the night were exceeded, in terms of both the numbers of votes cast and guests attending on the night. The room was full almost to bursting as MC and cricket legend Chris Cowdrey and comedian Stephen Grant kept the attendees entertained throughout the evening.
We will be focusing on the winners in more detail over the coming issues, but I’d like to mention a few here: ITESOFT’s BPMN+, reviewed recently in our pages, took the Workflow/BPM Product award, while our old friends at EASY Software were thrilled to win the Accounts Payable/Invoicing Product trophy. The much-coveted Data Capture/Recognition award went to ibml for their SoftTrac Capture Suite, reflecting the company’s shift toward a software focus for its solutions. In the ‘big prizes’, Company of the Year was awarded to Fujitsu and Product of the Year to Hyland for OnBase. Overall we were delighted with the range of entries from companies large and small, some we know very well and some who were frankly new names to us here at Document Manager. My personal thanks go out to all who voted and attended on the night.
