Welcome to the March 2019 Newsletter.
We've got our head in the cloud this month with several articles offering an update on the state of play in cloud computing. First off Aubrey Stearn, CTO of Digital Accelerator Platform at Nationwide Building Society, talks cloud-native benefits, risks and avoiding vendor lock-in. Aubrey will be a panellist at the inaugural Strategic Cloud Migration Summit on May 14th 2019 in London, where she will be discussing “Cloud Native: Advantages, Challenges & Learning Points From The Front Line” with Tom Clark, Head of Common Platform at ITV, and Leo Mindel, Founder & Owner of Sotic.
We also have an opinion piece by Zak Virdi, UK Managing Director at SoftwareONE, which considers the true cost of cloud computing. As Zak explains, “Organisations often struggle to effectively plan for and understand the financial requirements that cloud will place on their organisation. Tackling this issue is paramount and central to securing full cloud advantage.” The answer it seems may lie in deploying cloud management software - read Zak’s article for more.
Elsewhere this month the finalists have been announced and voting is now well underway for the 2019 Network Computing Awards. Please visit Network Computing Awards website before April 23rd to cast your votes and for more information on the awards ceremony itself.
