If you’re still finding the ‘new normal’ to be anything but then we have several articles for you this month that tackle the ever-present subject of remote working and all things WFH, as well as an important update on the 2020 Network Computing Awards. First, Mike Puglia, Chief Strategy Officer, Kaseya explains why keeping compliant while remote working is about more than just GDPR – you have to consider a wider range of security policies which must also now include the hardware and devices that you’re using at home. Are your portable devices secure enough to connect to a corporate network?
Elsewhere this month Tom Caldwell, Statseeker CTO, outlines the growing importance of VPN in remote access networking. As Tom explains, “Network engineering teams are under pressure to deliver a clear view on the availability and performance of their remote network connections, which are now deemed critical to ongoing business success.” Read Tom’s article to learn how adding VPN to your network monitoring can help.
Finally we’re pleased to announce that online voting for this year’s Network Computing Awards has now resumed. Voting was suspended back in March for all too obvious reasons but you now have until 22nd September to cast your votes online on the awards website. Sadly the current situation means that, for the first time, we’ll be unable to hold an awards ceremony in London, but we’ll still be announcing the results online on 2nd October. Visit the awards website for more.
