We start this issue with the news that there’s just a week left to vote on the 2020 Network Computing Awards. The awards were originally planned for April this year but, well, we won’t be awarding any prizes for guessing what happened there. Like everyone else we were hoping that the world would’ve returned to some form of normality by the autumn and that we might still be able to hold the awards night in London on a rescheduled date. Sadly though it became apparent that we’d have to put the champagne on ice for the ceremony this year. Instead we’ll be announcing this year’s results in the first week of October, so if you haven’t already now’s the time to cast your votes online for the networking companies, solutions, services and people that have most impressed you in the past 12 months. You now have until 22 September to make your choices online at the awards website, above.
Elsewhere this month we have articles that tackle the security concerns of remote working, a feature on the rise of the hacker for hire, and we review the latest release of the network monitoring software, WhatsUp Gold. We’ll be back in October with a round-up of the winners of the Network Computing Awards.
