This month’s newsletter comes hot on the heels of the 2021 Network Computing Awards, which took place on Thursday 21st at the Leonardo Royal London. After having to ‘go virtual’ with the awards in 2020 for reasons that will be all too apparent, it was a genuinely refreshing change of pace to once again spend an evening in the company of guests and nominees after so many months of Zooming and all things WFH. Not that hybrid working is going away anytime soon of course, and we have articles this month that explore the security implications of our hybrid future and explain the growing hype around hybrid cloud. October is also Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2021, and to mark the occasion experts from across the industry have shared their security insights for the year ahead with us in this issue.
Our winners on Thursday evening included Brigantia, who won Distributor of the Year, DrayTek, winners of the New Hardware Product of the Year category, and Versa Networks, who took home the trophy for SD-WAN Vendor of the Year. ExaGrid were also big winners on the night, collecting four awards including Company of the Year.
Congratulations once again to all of this year’s winners and runners-up, and a big “thank you” to all those who took the time to nominate and vote online. You’ll find a full list of the 2021 winners and runners-up on the awards website and we’ll have more details on this year’s winners in the next issue of Network Computing Magazine.
